Lucia was born June 23, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Marcelina Mendez (Ramiro H. Gomez). Lucia, a devoted woman of faith whose heart belonged fully to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A proud and faithful Pentecostal, she lived her life as a testimony of God's love, grace, and compassion. Her faith was not only spoken- it was lived. She prayed earnestly and often, lifting up her patients, their families, and even the surgeons and medical teams she worked alongside. Prayer was her first response and her greatest gift, offered freely and sincerely to anyone in need. She believed deeply in the power of prayer and trusted God in all things. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), she served with exceptional dedication, gentleness, and integrity. Her work was more than a career- it was a calling. She treated every patient with dignity, patience, and genuine care, seeing each one as God's child. Her kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path, and many were comforted not only by her skill, but by her compassionate spirit. She was known for her warm smile, her encouraging words, and her unwavering willingness to help others. She welcomed everyone with an open heart and lived by Christ's example of love, humility, and service. To know her was to feel seen, valued, and prayed for. Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing she has been welcomed home by the Savior she loved so dearly. Her legacy of faith, prayer, and selfless service will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched. "Well done, good and faithful servant."
