Jan Sierman

Dateline: Alice, Texas Jan Malynn Sierman, 64, of Alice, Texas passed away on July 11, 2023. She was born on March 27, 1959 to Clarence Brown and Phyllis Sierman in Pampa, Texas. She grew up in several areas of Texas and Louisiana finally locating in Pearland, Texas. While in Pearland she was actively involved with the Renaissance Festival with friends. Jan was a huge animal lover from birds to dogs to cats. She began active involvement in dog shows in 2000. She loved animals and showing dogs was a huge passion of hers. She had a rottweiler named Shadow that she adored and participated in the shows. She soon added two springer spaniels to her family of animals, Star and Sky. She showed Star in dog shows around South Texas and joined the P.A.W.S. Up. She would engage in community activities for kids via birthdays, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, and special events held at libraries. She worked at a local vet clinic and enjoyed being involved in helping an array of animals. Prior to her illness she worked at Fesco of Alice Texas and really enjoyed the friendships and environment of her colleagues. A family tradition began with Jan when a pink dress was crocheted for her mother in 1940. She wore the dress when she was 5 and tradition carried on through four generations with 15 females wearing the pink dress. The last two females that have worn the dress were the great-great-granddaughters of the lady who crocheted the pink dress in 2022. Jan is survived by her mother Phyllis Sierman, her son Jimi Curry (Michelle), brothers Pat Brown (Donna) and Cory Sierman (Madlyne), grandkids Mickey, Daphne, Desmond, and Delilah, her nieces and nephews, and cousins. Jan is preceded in death by her father Clarence Brown, brothers Kim Brown and Dee Brown, and great-niece Madison Grace Bowen. Services are being entrusted to Robersons Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 pm with a prayer service at 2:00pm at Robersons Funeral Home, 98 W Main St, Alice Tx 78332 Graveside services will be on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Manvel Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Manvel TX 77578
