Life’s Journey “He saw a hand that we could not see that beckoned his way He heard a voice that said “no more days and steps to roam” It is indeed time for Peace and Rest And our Beloved “Tony” quietly slipped away.” Anthony LaMar Willie, fondly known by most as “Tony” spent his final days on this earth with loved ones on January 9, 2015. Tony was the second child born to Lafayette and Cornelia Willie on Dec. 3, 1959 in Alice, Tx. He was an Alice High School graduate and also attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville for Two years. Tony accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at age ten. As a teenager, he was faithful to God and his church and enjoyed reading Bible Stories and was the assistant teacher of the Primary Class under the leadership of the late Mrs. Willie Mae Newsome. He also served as an usher, choir member, and in various other Christian capacities. Tony Willie was truly a prayerful man of much faith and dedication to God. Throughout his illness and surgeries, he never complained, but rather faced each day with JOY, PEACE, STRENGTH, while consistently reading God’s Word. He relied on the truth of God’s word and the promise of His presence to light his path daily. Anthony “Tony” was preceded in death by his father, Lafayette Willie. He leaves to celebrate his life a loving and caring mother, Mrs. Cornelia Willie, two sisters: Carmen and Adrienne Willie, one brother: Andre Willie Sr. a sister-in-law Crisi Willie, two nieces: Jessica and Alexis Willie, two nephews: Andre (Sara) Willie Jr. and Karl David Willie, one uncle, three aunts and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at 2PM at the True Light Missionary Baptist Church in Alice, Texas Burial will follow in the Roberson Collins Cemetery in Alice, Tx.
