Dateline: Three Rivers Velma Cardenas, age 65 passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at a hospital in Corpus Christi following an extended illness. She was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, and a Great-grandmother. She was born to Timoteo and Maria (Chavera) Briseno on May 18, 1956, in Three Rivers. She later married Victorio Cardenas and they raised their children. She is preceded by her father Timoteo Briseno, her brother Alonzo Briseno and her son Juan Angel Briseno. Survivors include her husband Victorio Cardenas of Three Rivers. Daughter Evangelica Briseno and Alberto Rodriguez of Three Rivers. Her daughter-in-law Christina Briseno of Three Rivers. Mother Maria Chavera Gutierrez of Three rivers. Her siblings: Mary Caballero (Jerry) of Three Rivers, Tim Briseno Jr of Three Rivers, and Eddie Chavera of San Antonio. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Bianca Briseno, Xavier Briseno, Ilias Rodriguez, Andrea Briseno, Victoria Briseno and Nadia Briseno. She was so proud to see her new greatgrandchild Rhylo Rodriguez. She had numerous nieces and nephews among her family that love and will miss her dearly. Visitation will be Friday, March18, 2022 from 5-8 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers. Burial to follow at the Three Rivers Cemetery. Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home, three Rivers.
