Dateline: Pleasanton, Tx Romana C. Garcia, age 93, formerly of Three Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at a local nursing home in Pleasanton. Romana was born in Progresso, Coahuila, Mexico to Julian Gonzalez and Fransisca Cuellar on July 18, 1924. She married Jose A. Garcia on February 23, 1945 in Three Rivers. She worked as a clerk at Gurwitz variety store in Three Rivers. Romana is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose A Garcia ; her brother Nicolas Alaniz and a great-grandchild Samuel E. Darling. Romana is survived by her son Julian C. Garcia of Refugio, a daughter JoAnn (Jeff) Whitney of Pleasanton. Grandchildren: Julian C. Garcia Jr of Rosharon, Jeanelle Darling of Beeville, Jennifer Garcia, Janice (Ruben Carbajal) Garcia, Jeffrey (Ninfa) Garcia, Joyce (Davey) Gentry, Joannie Garcia, Joe Garcia all of Three Rivers; Joshua (Joanna) Stapleton of Leander, Leslie (Eddie) Robledo of Leander, Wesley Stapleton of Pleasanton, Whitney (Jordan) Gonzales of LaVernia, Stefanie Whitney of Pleasanton, Jeffrey (Megan) Whitney of Three Rivers and Courtney Whitney of San Antonio. Great grandchildren : Megan, Sara and Erin Darling of Three Rivers, Julian Matthew Garcia of Corpus Christi, Dannelle Gentry of Beeville, Mark Gentry of Three Rivers, Jeremy Porraz, Jacob, and John Wayne Castillo, Joseph Garcia, Nickole and Nayeli Gutierrez all of Three Rivers; Nathan (Yolanda) Morin of Beeville, Jasmine Porraz, Adrianna and Maricela Cruz of Three Rivers, Evan, Emma and Madelynn Stapleton of Leander, Clara Robledo of Leander, Leyton and Hudson Gonzales of LaVernia and Nathan Morin Jr of Beeville. Visitation will be Friday, March 2 from 8-10 AM with FUNERAL SERVICE AT 10 AM at Roberson Funeral Home with the Andy Amaro/Mary Posey of Monte Olivo officiating the service. Burial will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Julian Matthew Garcia, Jeffrey Garcia, Joe Garcia, Joshua Stapleton, Wesley Stapleton and Jeff Whitney.
