He was also preceded in death by his in-laws Maria J. Domingo & Hiram J. Domingo. Carlos, as a child worked in the family business of construction and the ranch. What children these days consider work / chores for allowance Carlos only knew as work to learn the trade for the future. He did have time for the things he loved to do. From baseball where he was a hind catcher, to tearing down the engine in his Cutlass Supreme and rebuilding it. In his free time, he would help his dad with the construction company. Carlos was unlimited on work he would do; driveways, sewer lines, septic tanks, build stock tanks, back-hole, maintainer, front loader operator, sand blaster/primer/painter. He also operated heavy equipment and was a heavy equipment mechanic. He was an FFA officer for 4 years and showed hogs. He impressed others with the fact that he trained his hogs to walk all the way from the hog pens - the current elementary building to Schorsch’s dairy by themselves and back. He graduated from Jourdanton High School in 1972, and then went off to college in Uvalde, Texas and majored in Animal Science receiving an Associate’s Degree of Science. In 1974 Carlos went to work with the City of Poteet as their Water and Wastewater Manager. He was employed by the City and then moved to Jourdanton to be the Water and Wastewater Manager for a total of 25 Years. He loved working for the Cities Municipalities and did many budget grants. Carlos took a leave of absence to go work abroad on a government project for the Suez Canal in Egypt for about 9 years. There he worked for the Department of Defense training Egyptians and Palestinians to operate water and wastewater facilities for military bases throughout North Africa. Carlos & Veronica Domingo married in Cairo, Egypt on August 29, 1999 and later returned to the states. Upon his return Carlos, Vicky and the boys took time to acclimate to the United States, eventually going to work for Charles Lyons on the Ranch now known as FCK Ranch. He lived out his life at the ranch working closely with Fred, Charles and Kevin. Here he cultivated many close relationships with all the hunters that would pass through. Most of which he considered family and loved them like such. It was a labor-intensive environment at times and at other times it was a relaxation. He was a kind, happy, and gentle man with a big heart to help others. He was volunteer for the San Antonio Junior Livestock Auction for more than 25 years. Carlos was a member of the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Jourdanton and the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tilden, Texas. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Hot Wells for many years. He loved his family, community and church. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Tilden Livestock Show Association for 6 years, working hard to make a positive impact for the youths in his community, even after he left the association. In some cases, providing animals to show for those who could not afford it. Carlos and Vicky instilled the need to put God first and stay true to their religion, have a great work ethic, morals, self-respect, common sense, and to respect others to pass on in their children. We love and will miss you. The family is forever grateful to Charles and Adrian Lyons and their families for all you do.
