October 7, 1929 - December 16, 2017

Dateline: Pleasanton Carl L. Stewart, Jr., age 88, formerly of Whitsett, passed away at his home in Pleasanton following a sudden illness. He was born to Tennie Marinda (Bell) and Carl Lee Stewart Sr on October 7, 1929 in Whitsett, Texas. He was a rancher for many years. He proudly served our country in the US Army in Korea. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Merle R. Stewart, 2 sons James Dale Stewart and Troy Jackson Stewart, grandson Jake Childers, 2 sisters Bethel Louise Elliott and Lois Blayer and his brother J.E. Sonny Stewart. Survivors include his children Russell Lee (Janis) Stewart of Poteet; Lloyd Madison (Sue) Stewart of Loma Alta; Carolyn Louise Childers of Pleasanton; Clayton J. (Lottie) Stewart of Caldwell; Darryl Wayne Stewart of Whitsett and Floyd Nathaniel Stewart also of Whitsett. He was also survived by 2 brothers; Roy Stewart of Chandler and John Ferrian Stewart of Alvin along with one sister Myra Harrod of Three Rivers. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers. Graveside Service will be Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at 11 AM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Whitsett. Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
