Dateline: New Braunfels, Texas Margarita "Maggie" Fuentes Soliz was born on February 22, 1945, to Pablo Fuentes and Petra Rios in Port Lavaca, TX. She passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in New Braunfels, TX. She was Julio Soliz's beloved wife for 57 years. Coming from a large, blended family, she had 20 siblings. As the matriarch of our family, she is now reunited in heaven with her parents, stepmother, and 15 siblings, along with her in-laws, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. Her four children survive her: Norma Rodriguez and her husband, Robert Rodriguez Jr.; Nora Anderson and her husband, Bryan Anderson; Leonel "Leo" Soliz and his wife, Kristie Kozlovsky-Soliz; and Belinda "Belle" Soliz-Gonzales. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one more on the way in August. One of her favorite hobbies in her youth was dancing with her sisters and cousins at La Villita. She loved animals, watched telenovelas, listened to Tejano music, and enjoyed oldies. She was a big fan of Elvis and Selena. Some of her favorite things in life included spending time with her grandchildren, watching movies and TV shows, listening to music, and cooking. Her favorite foods were ramen, ice cream, Cinnabon, and Coca-Cola. She was known by those who loved her for always staying in touch, calling her nieces and nephews on their birthdays, and singing them "Las Mañanitas to them. She served as a babysitter for over 30 years and opened her home to many children and their families in the New Braunfels, TX, community. Her loss will be felt by many, but her memories will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of her loved ones.She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 57 years, Julio Soliz, who lovingly cared for her until the end. She is also survived by her sister, Sabina Fuentes-Bebee; her brother, Vicentè Fuentes and his wife, Alicia; her brother, Luis Manuel “Manny” Fuentes and his wife, Shawn; her little brother, Joselito “Joey” Fuentes and his wife, Yolanda; as well as her sister-in-law, Yolanda Fuentes, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and bonus grandchildren.Grandchildren include: Robert Rodriguez III, wife Vickie, and their children Maria, Ginny, Robby, and Daisy; Alma Powell and husband Nathan, and their son Jalen; Angela Pugmire and husband Austin; Anna Cain and husband Kevin, and their son Elijah; Kirstin, Selena, and Bryan Anderson II; Erin Soliz-Ortiz and husband Christian; Justine Tijerina Soliz and Christian Ivan Flores, along with their son Romeo and daughter Sofía Margarita; Sí Erra Soliz; James Mendoza; Angelina Soliz and her daughter Aria; Raymond Jacob “RJ” Alvarez; Raymond Diego Alvarez; and Raymond Jeremy Alvarez. She is reunited in heaven with her siblings: Criselda Montalvo, Elva Montalvo I, Elva Montalvo II, Elva Montalvo-Aleman, Manuel Demetrio Montalvo, Rosalva “Chawa” Montalvo I, Rosalva “Chawa” Montalvo-Martinez, Simona Fuentes Infante, Juan Pablo Fuentes, Paubla Fuentes, Pablo Fuentes, Alma Delia Fuentes, María Valentina Fuentes Céledon, Judith “Judy” Fuentes, and María Elena Fuentes Morales. Her father-in-law, Gregorio Garza-Soliz, and her mother-in-law, San Juana Soliz; her sisters-in-law, Guadalupe “Lupe” Garza-Gonzales and Leonor Soliz. Brothers-in-law include Maximo Aleman III, Manuel “Meme” Infante Sr., Rayford “Ray” Bebee, Francisco “Pancho” Céledon, Ernesto Morales, and Juvenal Gonzales Sr. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 9AM to 10AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A rosary is to be recited at 10AM with a Mass to directly follow Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial to follow in the New Collins Cemetery. Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home Alice.
