Dateline: Alice, Texas Joel “Patrick” Jaime, Jr, known to his mother as “My Papi Chulo,” 42 years of age, from San Diego, Tx, passed on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was born on June 24, 1981, in Alice, Texas. He was born to Martha and Joel Patrick Jaime, Sr. Patrick attended San Diego High School. Upon graduation in 1999 he attended Bee County College and received his associate degree in science. He began working at a young age to help support his family. His jobs included Sub-Way, Whataburger, Texas Energy as an invoice clerk, teller at The Bank of Alice, and a supervisor for Texas Champion Bank. He was a Christian who believed in God until the end. He loved life, his family, and his friends. He was so humble, loving, caring, and always remembered everyone on their birthdays. He always made time for everyone no matter if he had other things to do. He was diagnosed with Cushing’s Syndrome in 2015 and that would begin his long battle with that illness. Cushing’s Syndrome won, but he put up a great fight. In the end he was tired and was ready to see Jesus. His nephews were his pride and joy, especially “Friend.” He loved and cared for his mother, sisters, and his cat “Mini Meow Meow.” He loved his organizations and had a strong passion for providing service above self. He is a proud member of the San Diego Rotary in which he is the current vice-president, Vaquero Interact Club Manager, member of the Polio Society, two-year board of director, 4-Way Test Speech Coordinator, District 5930 Foundation Matching Grant Committee Member, and District 5930 Rotary Polio Moto Committee Member. He is a proud Paul Harris Fellow. Polio Plus Society Member. Duval County Fair Non-Livestock Superintendent. He also volunteered and assisted the Rotary Club of Alice. He is the treasurer of Crime Stopper of South Texas. Member of the Alice Black History Delegation in which he is the MLK & Juneteenth Event Coordinator. Member and Merchant’s Space Co-Superintendent for the Jim Wells County Fair Association. Ambassador of Alice Chamber of Commerce. Ambassador of Alice Hub City Chamber of Commerce. Public relations for San Diego Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8931. He is also a proud member of the San Diego Vaquero Booster Club in which he never missed a Friday night watching the San Diego Vaqueros. Patrick is preceded in death by his father Joel Patrick Jaime, Sr., his maternal grandmother, Manuela Rojas, maternal grandfather, Jesus Hernandez, paternal grandparents, Isabel and Bersabe Jaime, special aunt Nana Jaime, Godfather, Gume Rivera, aunt Lucy Aragon, and Tio Gilberto. Family members who will cherish loving memories include his loving mother, Martha, and stepdad Dan Alaniz of Spring, TX. His loving sister BFF, Erika (Rick), and his youngest sister Jessika (Jennifer). Half-brothers, Moses and Ramon. Step-brothers, Louie (Monica), Tim (Alicia), Michael (Wendy), and Cody (Jessica). Aunt, Anabella Briones. Uncle, Jesus (Oralia) Hernandez, and Abel Aragon. God Mothers, Baudelia Rivera and Elena Ochoa. Nephews, Michael Jr., Jerick, Shaun, and Elijah (friend). BIL Michael Salaiz. A visitation will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 from 5PM to 8PM with a prayer service to begin at 7PM at the Church of The Overcomer in Alice, Texas. The celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 10AM at the Church of The Overcomer in Alice, Texas with a burial to be held in the San Diego Cemetery.
