Jeanie L. Dove

Although saddened by our loss of precious Jeanie, we are comforted and joyous about her incorruptible inheritance of eternal life; she kept the faith with patient endurance and determination, finishing the race. Eugenie (Jeanie) Lydell Dove, 94, passed from this earth peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on November 25, 1931 to Wiley (Gip) and Cora (DuBose) Carroll at their home in Simmons. She lived many places during her childhood, but called Simmons her childhood home until she married and (literally) built a home in Karon. When she was 16 (and a 1/2) she married her sweetheart, Homer Pierre Dove, with who she shared a full life for nearly 61 years.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; a son, Clay Carroll Dove; a grandson Trey Carroll Dove; 4 brothers; Dan, Dunke, Brownie, Jimmy; and 2 sisters; Kassie and Madge. Jeanie was the loving and cherished mother of Clay (Rose) Dove, Bryant Kimball Dove, Drusanne (Clif) Hunter, Kip (Regina) Dove, and her bonus son Dan (Debra) Martin, in addition to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers are her nephews: Rick Carroll, Patrick Carroll, Happy Coquat, Jean Coquat, Joe Barnes, John Barnes, Scooter Carroll, Jamie Carroll, Monte Carroll and Dewayne Carroll.; From the time she grew up in Simmons helping her dad and brothers with masonry and carpentry work, during her over 20 years' service at First State Bank of Three Rivers, and throughout her life in Karon helping Homer on the ranch, until she was 94, she always stayed busy. Her hands were never idle. If she didn't have a project, then she would create one! Jeanie was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Christ and spent the happiest times of her life raising and supporting her family, embarking on new adventures, immersing herself in various projects, and being faithful to her Lord. The family extends special, heartfelt thanks to the staff of John Paul II Nursing home in Kenedy, Texas, for the exceptional care and comfort they provided. In lieu of flowers, pay it forward to someone in need or contribute to your favorite charity. There will be a visitation at Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5-7 PM and a PRIVATE BURIAL Saturday June 6, 2026 at the Dove Family Cemetery if weather permitting.
