Clarence James "Bubba" Shields Jr.

Dateline: Calliham Texas Clarence “Bubba” Shields, age 66, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, following a short illness. He was born in Three Rivers to Shorty and Darline (Keilman) Shields on December 19, 1954. He was raised in Pearsall and loved fishing and hunting. Bubba was a lifetime member of the NRA. Bubba loved fishing and the water so much he went on to work on boats and made a career of it for some time, until he went on to share his skills with the refinery. Bubba married the love of his life Ms. Karen Shelby in 1977. Karen always has looked at Bubba and loved him and thought he was the most handsome and smartest man she has ever laid her eyes on! True fact: Karen even thought Bubba could be president. Bubba and Karen soon grew their love and added Jason and Joni and then became a family of four. Bubba was the kind of man that never judged a person and took you as you were. He was special that way. Bubba was so kindhearted that if he saw you struggle, he would always try to help. From the shirt off his back to the last dime in his account. That was just Bubba! Bubba has 5 beautiful grandkids whom he loved with all his heart. If you knew Bubba – his personality was contagious from his storytelling to the stories that was not even true just so he can get a laugh. That was just Bubba - the traits of his Daddy. His selflessness of helping others impacted so many lives. He is loved by so many and will be terribly missed and never forgotten. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence "Shorty" Shields. Survivors include: His wife Karen Shields of Calliham. His children; Jason (Vanessa) Shields of Calliham and Joni Shields of West Columbia. Mother Darline Shields of Oakville. His siblings: Kathy (Jimmy) Talbert of New Braunfels; Debbie (Greg) Bryington of Brazoria; Mike (Kennea) Shields of Richwood; Jeannie (Duff) Snider of Oakville. His brother-in-law Steven Shelby of Missouri. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren Steven, Kaitlyn and Matthew Nichols of Clute and Derek and Avery Shields of Calliham, along with many nieces and nephews that love and will miss him dearly. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 10 AM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers. Immediately after Service – the family would like to invite congregation to the Calliham Community Center for fellowship and refreshments. Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
