Mrs. Cassie M. Grant

REX - Missionary Cassie Mae Golden Grant,was born July 17, 1961 to the late William and Mamie Golden in Quitman, Georgia. She attended Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. She later attended Job Corps where she completed her Medical Studies. She was joined in holy matrimony to James Grant. They were married 28 years. This union was blessed with five daughters; Valencia Cassie Grant, Monica Elette Grant Barnard and Farrah Geniva Mamie Grant, one son; Mitchell Grant. Two daughters preceded them in death, Josephine Grant and Christina Grant. Cassie accepted Christ on December 31, 1985 at Druid Hills Church of God in Christ. She later made Tabernacle Church of God in Christ her church home. She then joined her husband in starting a new ministry, New Covenant Church, where she served as First Lady and Missionary. She lived a full life. She raised her girls before she ventured into the workforce she started her career at Fort Cillem, She wen to work for Delta. After that she worked for the Clayton County School System as a bus driver. She obtained her Commercial Driver's License from Dekalb Technical College and upon completion she was recruited by Marta to become a bus driver. Cassie touched the lives of many people wherever she went. Cassie was a powerful woman of God. She spoke faith, believed faith and lived faith everyday. Whatever she spoke came to pass. She always said she was shy but when it come to talking about the Lord she could speak 95 miles per hour. Her journey on earth may has ended but her eternity with Christ has just began. She stepped out her old fleshly body into her brand new spiritual body. On Thursday, January 10, 2013 in her 51st season of life she slept into the Lord’s embrace. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She will forever be remembered by her husband, Reverend James Grant; her children, Valencia Cassie Grant, Monica Elettle Grant (Carl) Barnard, Farrah Geniva Mamie Grant and Mitchell Grant of ; a host of siblings, Herman (Lillie) Denson, Willie James (Joyce) Golden, Louise Postell, Shirley Ann (William) Hogan, Frank (Mineva) Golden, Shirley Ann (Alvin) Horton, Mary (Willie) Smith, Richard (Georgia Mae) Golden, Howard (Pinky) Golden, William (Denise) Golden, Jr., John (Patricia) Golden, Clayton (Lois) Denson, Harrison (Daisy) Denson, Grady (Frances) Denson, Charlie C. Denson, Eloise (Wallace) Shanda Sanders; a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. Mrs. Grant will lie in repose at the Church on Wednesday, January 16th from 10:00 am. until the hour of the service. The Grant family has invited friends and extended family members to celebrate with them the home going of Mrs. Grant at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16th at Word of Life Ministry, 1600 Conley, Road, Conley, GA. The committal service and final resting place will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, GA.
